1. Improve your rankings by seeing what keywords your competitors are targeting
G.I. Joe said it best: “Knowing is half the battle.” It certainly applies to the world of SaaS sales and marketing. Knowing exactly what your competitors are up to gives you a strategic edge. Datanyze Insider, coupled with SEMrush competitive intelligence, is the best way to learn more about your competitors, their marketing strategy and their potential weaknesses.
For example, revealing the top organic keywords that are driving traffic to your competitor’s site tells your marketing department which keywords to focus on.
Imagine you have a white noise web app that is well-received, but your competitor, Rainy Mood, consistently sees more traffic.
With Datanyze Insider and SEMrush, you can see that “rain sounds” is the top organic keyword that is sending people to Rainy Mood. It may be a good idea for your marketing team to start producing content targeting that keyword. With time (and lots of good content), you may be able to chip away at Rainy Mood’s traffic.

2. Target companies based on web traffic
Knowing the amount of traffic a site gets is a powerful indicator of the quality and success of a business. That’s important when considering where to place ads, or when prospecting for companies that have a reached a certain level of sophistication. With SEMrush data, you can see a monthly estimation for both paid and organic traffic. And you can see the keywords that are driving that traffic.
Let’s say you are selling a pricey web analytics or optimization tool. After running some reports in Salesforce, you find that your best customers receive more than 500K visitors from organic traffic (that's assuming you track that data point). Before you reach out to a lead, you should make sure they are actually ready for your solution. All you have to do is go to the lead’s site and click on the “SEO” tab within Insider to see traffic estimations. Bingo: instant qualification (or DQ, for that matter).
3. Reveal the projected AdWords spend of a prospect
Ad spend can be used to gauge a company’s commitment to growth, and the level of importance it places on marketing. This is powerful information, especially if you are selling a tool that caters to marketers.
For instance, if you know a company is spending $70,000 on AdWords each month, it’s a relatively safe bet that they place a high value on marketing. This valuable data is especially useful if you are in SEM/SEO space. As the previous section stated, you are able to determine fit using the data points provided by SEMrush and Datanyze.
4. Find better advertising opportunities
AdWords is incredibly effective, but can also be incredibly expensive. If you’re looking to make a little extra money by allowing ads on your company's blog, you can use SEMrush to identify businesses that are paying for advertising based on keywords you already rank well for and reach out to them.
Let's say you organically rank for the keyword “sales automation” and, using Insider, see that XYZ, Inc. is dumping money into AdWords to rank for that search. You can contact them directly and suggest they display ads on your site or create some sort of affiliate network. It’s a win-win for both businesses.
